Miss Potter (2006) 7/10

Starring : Renee Zellweger, Ewan McGregor, Emily Watson, Barbara Flynn, Bill Paterson
Director : Chris Noonan
Running Time : 93 mins

Much to her family’s disgust, Beatrix Potter (Zellweger) decides to become a children’s author and get her stories of Peter Rabbit and friends published so she can share them with the world. On her journey to success, she meets book publisher Norman Warne (McGregor), and I doomed romance soon starts up between them.

This movie wasn’t that bad, but there was very little substance to it. Considering this is basically a biopic explaining how Beatrix Potter became an author, there was very little going on and not much really to be said. Zellweger was suitably unstable as the famous author, and came across as a bit of a loony at the beginning of the movie. Worth checking out if you like romantic melodramas, otherwise steer clear.
