Starring : Ben Affleck, Gwyneth Paltrow, Natasha Henstridge, Edward Edwards, Jennifer Grey
Director : Don Roos
Running Time : 102 mins
When Buddy Amaral (Affleck) switches plane tickets with a fellow passenger, and the plane crashes, he feels responsible for his death so journeys to visit the man’s family to explain what happens and beg their forgiveness, but when he falls in love with the man’s widow, Abby Janello (Paltrow), things get a little complicated and he decides not to tell anyone what happened.
I wasn’t a big fan of this movie, mainly because it was Ben Affleck in a serious role, something he rarely excels at. Usually I quite enjoy Gwyneth Paltrow movies, what with her range being such that she could be in anything, but in this she felt a little wooden at times, perhaps because of the role she was playing, and the movie suffered a bit because of this. Still, it did have its moments, and the overall feel to the movie was consistent.
