Surf shop owner Skip (Ledger) form a skateboarding group from a bunch of local Venice Beach surfers in the hope of making more money and keeping his business afloat. The skateboarding group, the "Z-Boys", soon become famous and start to turn from Skip in the pursuit of fame and money.

This is an interesting biopic which tells the story of the advent of modern skateboarding, its origins, and the people who helped create it as a sport and past time. All of the actors put in a fine performance, unfortunately there isn’t really enough material in my opinion to sustain this for a full movie, even though the makers have made a pretty good job of it.
