Iron Man (2008) 8/10

Following a terrible experience in Afghanistan, when he is held prisoner by insurgences, playboy millionaire weapons developer Tony Stark (Downey) decides he no longer wants to make weapons but wants to help benefit mankind. Unfortunately this attitude isn’t appreciated by his colleagues who decide to continue selling weaponry despite Starks insistence to the contrary.

As far as super hero movies go, this one is above average. Downey Jr is perfect as the semi-alcoholic Tony Stark, and the odds of a sequel of sorts are almost certain. Make sure you stay for the end credits to see a high profile guest appearance, and hints at a major movie event coming up in a few years.
