Veronica Sawyer (Ryder) is one of the few who are allowed into the confined ranks of the in-crowd at her school, all of whom are named Heather, but when Veronica meets Jason Dean (Slater), they plot together to make the Heathers look bad in front of their peers, unfortunately with disastrous results.

This is definitely one of those classic childhood memories that, in some senses, should just remain a memory. Whenever I think about this movie it’s always so much better in my head! Still, there’s some wonderful performances from the cast, particularly Kim Walker who manages to steal every scene she’s in, and the irrepressible Christian Slater at his most psychotic best.
