I’ll Be There (2003) 6/10

Starring : Craig Ferguson, Jemma Redgrave, Charlotte Church, Joss Ackland, Ralph Brown, Ian McNiece, Imelda Staunton
Director : Craig Ferguson
Running Time : 102 mins

Former 80s pop star Paul Kerr (Ferguson) discovers he has a teenage daughter named Olivia (Church) from a weekend romance 16 years earlier with her mother, Rebecca (Redgrave). His unexpected reaction to the news is that he wants to become involved in her life, and that he had always been in love with Rebecca but had never been informed of her pregnancy.

This movie wasn’t that bad. I was expecting an annoyingly pointless vehicle for Church to transfer from pre-teen choir girl to grown up actress stroke pop star. Thankfully this movie had a little more going for it than that and gives us a nice enjoyable tale that ends exactly how you’d expect it to with little or no surprises.
