Bring It On (2000) 8/10

Starring : Kirsten Dunst, Eliza Dushku, Jesse Bradford, Gabrielle Union, Clare Kramer, Nicole Bilderback
Director : Peyton Reed
Running Time : 96 mins

When Torrance Shipman (Dunst) becomes the new captain of her high school cheer leading squad, the Toros, she soon discovers that the old captain had been stealing their routines from the Clovers, another squad from East Compton. This revelation puts Torrance into direct competition with Isis (Union), the captain of the Clovers, and both teams are forced to start performing at 110% efficiency in order to save their reputations.

This is a nice little teen comedy, with some superb bitching and back stabbing which keeps the movie entertaining from beginning to end. Unlike many of the teen comedies of the time, this movie is more realistic, and doesn’t use outright slapstick to garner it’s laughs. This well thought out movie is well worth seeing if you haven’t already, and I recommend it highly.
