The Matrix Revolutions (2003) 5/10

Starring : Keanu Reeves, Laurence Fishburne, Hugo Weaving, Carrie-Anne Moss
Director : The Wachowski Brothers
Running Time : 122 mins

As the inhabitants of Zion prepare for the final attack by the machines, Neo (Reevs) discovers that he can use his amazing powers outside of the Matrix and in turn prepares for the final showdown with an ever increasing number of Agent Smiths (Weaving).

This was a marginal improvement on the second instalment – well, it could hardly be any worse. Probably the main reason for it being better is that it didn’t focus on Neo; instead it sort of moved from character to character, not spending enough time developing any one person to make us feel any sense of commitment to their course. Personally the only character I liked before was Agent Smith, and even here he’s one dimensional and boring. Still, if you like fight scenes with more CGI than substance, go check it out.
