Starring : Leonardo DiCaprio, Cate Blanchett, Kate Beckinsale, John C Reilly, Alec Baldwin, Alan Alda
Director : Martin Scorsese
Running Time : 165 mins
Budding film director Howard Hughes (DiCaprio) becomes so obsessed with perfecting his aerial shots in his movie Hells Angels that he goes so far as to buy out TWA. As the years pass, his obsessive compulsive disorder slowly takes over his life, and he finds himself on trial for defrauding the US government when none of his commissioned planes for the Second World War are ever produced for the war effort.
In spite of being extraordinarily long, this was actually a pretty entertaining biopic of the life of Howard Hughes. Di Caprio manages to play the OCD ridden Hughes with a both likeable and detestable quality which is hard to find, and the supporting cast of celebrities do their part to ground the movie in its own imaginative world.
