Starring : Sean Penn, Naomi Watts, Don Cheadle, Jack Thompson
Director : Niels Mueller
Running Time : 92 mins
Samuel J Bicke (Penn) is a furniture salesman who is not happy with his lot in life. His bosses badger him to conform to their idea of the perfect salesman and his ex-wife Marie (Watts) tells him how useless he is. Finally deciding that the blame for his predicament lies firmly in the hands of the US President at the time, Richard Nixon, Bicke sets about planning to hijack a plane and crash it into the White House.
Although this was quite a slow movie, it did keep my interest throughout. Penn plays the role in a very depressing way which I thought was impressive, and manages to make us feel sympathy for him despite his stupid actions. Definitely worth watching, but only if you enjoy downbeat endings.
