Dan Burns (Carell) is a widower who finally meets a woman named Marie (Binoche) who he thinks is comparable to his dead wife, only to discover she is going out with his younger brother Mitch (Cook). To make matters worse, Dan then has to spend his family vacation pretending not to be bothered about the relationship.

I actually didn’t know what the plot was when I sat down to watch this movie, and despite it not being the most original movie this was still very entertaining. Some of the motives of some of the characters were questionable to say the least, but at least there was a lot of humour in this, unlike a similar movie called Margot At The Wedding which was humourless nonsense.
