Scoop (2006) 8/10

Journalism student Sondra Pransky (Johansson) is given some vital information during a magic act from the ghost of famed journalist Joe Strombel (McShane) about a serial killer known as the Tarot Card Murderer, so with the help of magician Sid Waterman (Allen), and using the assumed name of Jade Spence, Sondra starts to investigate the suspect – rich playboy Peter Lyman (Jackman) – but finds herself falling in love with him.

This was actually a decent comedy for Allen, of whom I am not a big fan. There’s an actual plotline to follow, and Johansson’s character is charmingly likeable in her naiveté, plus you get to see her in a swim suit, so overall this is a nice little comedy thriller with some nice twists and turns and a runtime that is more than bearable.
