Five years after he left his pregnant girlfriend Libby (Newton) at the alter, Dennis Doyle (Pegg) discovers that she has a new boyfriend called Whit (Azaria) who is the pure antithesis of Dennis, so Dennis decides to try to win back Libby’s respect by running a marathon – the only problem being he is scarily unfit.

Despite being worried that Simon Pegg might go downhill when he gets involved with Hollywood, this is actually a very good movie. Pegg is likeable without being perfect, and it’s good that, at first, we as an audience don’t sympathise with him but as the film progresses we start to. This is also a very well written movie, and Michael Ian Black is definitely a writer to keep your eye on
