Star Wars Episode II – Attack Of The Clones (2002) 6/10

Starring : Ewan McGregor, Natalie Portman, Hayden Christensen, Christopher Lee, Samuel L Jackson, Ian McDiarmid
Director : George Lucas
Running Time : 134 mins

When Padme Amidala (Portman), now a major senator, finds herself the victim of an assassination attempt, Obi-Wan Kenobi (McGregor) and Anakin Skywalker (Christensen) are sent to investigate and find out who was behind the attempted assassination. As Obi-Wan investigates, he discovers that Chancellor Palpatine (McDiarmid) is creating a clone army to protect the empire, and has used the attempted assassination as a selling point!

Despite being a vast improvement on The Phantom Menace, this still didn’t have any of the charm of the original trilogy. It’s not a simple story, and we’re thrown into the action far too soon with little explaination, followed by over two hours of exposition. Only worth watching if you’re a huge fan!
