Starring : Will Ferrell, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Dustin Hoffman, Queen Latifah, Emma Thompson
Director : Marc Forster
Running Time : 113 mins
Harold Crick (Ferrell) is an IRS auditor who leads an incredibly boring life, until one day he starts hearing a voice narrating his life. As he starts to get more and more worried that he is going insane, the voice announces that he is going to die! So Harold decides to try to find out who the voice belongs to so he can convince them to change his story.
This wasn’t Ferrell’s usual kind of over the top comedy role, and he actually comes across quite well as the morose Crick, but it’s Thompson who seems to get all the funny lines as the permanently depressed author who likes to kill off all her main characters. As it reaches its conclusion, it does get a little depressing, but stick with it because it works out well in the end.
