The Sentinel (2006) 6/10

Starring : Michael Douglas, Kiefer Sutherland, Eva Longoria, Martin Donovan, Kim Basinger, David Rasche
Director : Clark Johnson
Running Time : 106 mins

Legendary Secret Service operative Pete Garrison (Douglas) is framed for treason against the president of the United States (Rasche) but, due to his having an affair with the First Lady (Basinger), he is forced to go into hiding to protect her from the publicicity. Now on the run, he finds himself being tracked down by his friend and colleague David Breckinridge (Sutherland).

This wasn’t too bad a movie, but it did take a good while to actually get going. There were some odd choices of plotline, like the people framing Garrison also trying to kill him whilst trying to kill the President – surely this would have given him a great alibi! All in all this is only worth watching if you are really into your political thrillers, but even then this is quite predictable.
