Starring : Dennis Quaid, Topher Grace, Scarlett Johansson, Marg Helgenberger
Director : Paul Weitz
Running Time : 110 mins
Middle-aged advertising executive Dan Foreman (Quaid) finds himself demoted and replaced by 26 year old Carter Duryea (Grace), a young go getter who seems to have been employed solely so he can sack the majority of the work force. As if that isn’t bad enough, Dan is horrified when Carter starts to date his teenaged daughter Alex (Johansson).
This was a rather laid back comedy drama which thankfully had a suitable ending to it. Quaid plays both the worried father and the angry employee well, with Grace seeming to reprise a similar role to that he played in That 70’s Show. Johansson is gorgeous as ever, but sadly underused in her limited role, but Quaid and Grace’s opposing characters are more than enough to make up for that.
