Awake (2007) 7/10

Clay Beresford (Christensen) is due to undergo surgery to replace his damaged heart, but when he goes under he finds that he can still sense everything that is going on around him. Obviously it would be pretty bad to still be aware whilst having one’s chest cracked open, but what Clay hears during surgery concerns him more than any pain imaginable.

Depite having heard some pretty bad reviews, I actually found this movie very enjoyable. It starts off slowly, and Christensen, of course, was perfect for the role because most of his performances have been stiff and lifeless in the best, but the supporting cats, primarily Howard and Alba, were brilliant in their roles. Definitely worth watching – ignore the critics!
