Running Time : 128 mins
Tristan Thorne (Cox) travels to the fantasy world of Storhold to find a fallen star to give to Victoria (Miller), the woman he loves. When he finds the star, it turns out she’s in human form and going by the name Yvaine (Danes), and she was knocked from the heavens by an amulet which had been thrown there by the dieing king so he could challenge his surviving son’s to a contest for leadership. News of the fallen star travels to a coven of witches, and the witch Lamia (Pfeiffer) journeys in search of the star so she can steal her heart to regain her youth.
This is simply put one of the best fantasy movies I’ve seen in a long time. The plot is both dark and comical, with some great likeable characters and some wonderful performances and scenarios. Danes and Cox make a great pair to watch throughout the movie, and Pfeiffer’s villainess witch is a joy to behold.
