The Contract (2006) 5/10

Starring : Morgan Freeman, John Cusack, Jamie Anderson, Alice Krige, Megan Dodds
Director : Bruce Beresford
Running Time : 93 mins

Frank Carden (Freeman) is arrested by the FBI for being a contract killer following a car crash and is transported across the country to face trial. When some of his men try to set him free, he ends up trapped in a car travelling down the river. He is eventually rescued by Ray Keene (Cusack), a father who is trying to rebuild his relationship with his son Chris (Anderson), and finds himself on the run from the authorites as well as Keene, who wants to prove himself to his son by bringing Carden to justice.

This movie was so slow going it was almost beyond belief. The villains were pathetic and seemed to have no control over their weapons which randomly seemed to go off at the least provocation. Neither Cusack nor Freeman seem happy to be in this movie, but there are some okay moments which, sadly, were too few and far between.
