Failure To Launch (2006) 7/10

Starring : Matthew McConaughey, Sarah Jessica Parker, Zooey Deschanel, Justin Bartha, Bradley Cooper, Terry Bradshaw, Kathy Bates
Director : Tom Dey
Running Time : 94 mins

Tripp (McConaughey) is 35 years old and still lives at home with his parents, Al (Bradshaw) and Sue (Bates), so they decide to hire Paula (Parker), an interventionist who specialises in convincing geeky mummy’s boys to leave home. The trouble is Tripp isn’t a normal case, and Paula soon finds herself breaking her cardinal rule of business : falling for the client.

I was surprised that I actually enjoyed this movie. Although some of the slapstick felt forced, and as if it had only been put there to break up the movie a bit, the remainder of the movie was fun as well as touching. I especially liked some of the background stories for the other characters, specifically Kit (Deschanel) and her trouble with the mocking bird.
