Starring : Russell Crowe, Christian Bale, Logan Lerman, Dallas Roberts, Ben Foster, Peter Fonda, Vinessa Shaw, Alan Tudyk
Director : James Mangold
Running Time : 118 mins
Hard-up cattle rancher Dan Evans (Bale) agrees to helping escort a famous robber, Ben Wade (Crowe), to the train station to be sent to Yuma for trial. In return for $200, Dan must face the hazards of the Wild West, including some of Wade’s blood thirsty associates lead by the murderous Charlie Prince (Foster), as well as having to deal with the sly and conniving Wade himself.
This is a nice return to the great Westerns that were being made in the early nineties, specifically the likes of Unforgiven. Both Crowe and Bale are great in the lead roles and deliver some very intense performances, providing each other with some nice emotional battles along the way, and even the supporting cast, such as Tudyk and Foster, provide some great additions to the story.
