When Jackie Moon (Ferrell) discovers that the American Basketball Association (ABA) is due to collapse, he desperately wants his team, the Flint Michigan Tropics, to be transferred to the National Basketball Association (NBA), but only the top four best performing teams will be considers, and the Tropics are lingering at the bottom end of the league, so it takes all his ingenuity to try and boost the teams performance, with the help of former NBA player Monix (Harrelson).

This movie was a little disappointing. The plot felt too familiar, and very similar to a lot of other sports comedies that have reared their collective head in recent years. Ferrell plays his usual character, but not really with his usual enthusiasm, and the rest of the cast didn’t really seem that interested in making the movie amusing. I’d skip this unless you really like Ferrell movies.
