Starring : Bill Murray, Jeffrey Wright, Sharon Stone, Frances Conroy, Jessica Lange, Tilda Swinton
Director : Jim Jarmusch
Running Time : 103 mins
Aging lothario Don Johnston (Murray) receives a letter from an old girlfriend telling him that he has a child who has just turned 18 and may be on their way to meet him, so Don sets off in search of the mother. Unfortunately the letter doesn’t say who the mother is, and 19 years ago Don had more than one relationship, which makes things very tricky for him.
This was a highly enjoyable movie, giving Murray a chance to take a back seat to the varying performances from his character’s ex-girlfriends, each one being as crazy as the last. In spite of not having a definite ending to the movie, the plot and script are tight and work well, with the ambiguity of the ending leading to a far superior ending than any definite answers ever could have.
