Starring : Bruce Willis, Bonnie Bedelia, William Atherton, William Sadler
Director : Renny Harlin
Running Time : 118 mins
John McClane (Willis) once again finds himself fighting terrorists when a group hijack Dulles International Airport and switch off all the landing lights, meaning no planes can land until a drug baron who is being extradited back to the USA is freed from captivity. McClane’s personal interest in the issue is that his wife Holly (Bedelia) is on one of the planes, and if they don’t land soon they’ll run out of fuel and begin to crash land.
This was a little different from the original movie in that McClane has more help in this one, so he’s less of the lone wolf which made the first movie so spectacular. There is, however, all of the over the top violence and explosive action of the original which makes for good viewing. The only problem is the villain wasn’t really interesting enough for my liking, which made some of the movie fall a little flat.
