Starring : Jake Gyllenhaal, Mark Ruffalo, Anthony Edwards, Robert Downey Jr, Chloe Sevigny
Director : David Fincher
Running Time : 158 mins
Newspaper cartoonist Robert Graysmith (Gyllenhaal) finds himself becoming more and more obsessed with a serial killer who goes by the name Zodiac, who famously committed a series of seemingly random murders during the 1960s and 1970s, making it his business to point out which of the seemingly unconnected murders were committed by him.
Although incredibly long at over two and a half hours, this movie manages to keep the viewer engrossed right up until the very end, a knack which David Fincher seems to have honed down to a fine art. The fact that the movie jumps through time so quickly doesn’t detract from the plot, but instead gives us key snippets of the important moments in the now infamous case. Well worth checking out.
