Nightwatch (2004) 5/10

Starring : Konstantin Khabensky, Mariya Poroshina, Vladimir Menshov, Galina Tyunina
Director : Timur Bejmambetov
Running Time : 115 mins

Years ago, a group of supernatural beings known as "Others" had been split into two groups : the Day Watch and the Night Watch. The Night Watch have the unenviable task of keeping an eye on the creatures of the night and ensuring that they don’t break the rules of their treaty, but things take a strange turn when it is discovered that a new life form who will tip the balance of good and evil has come into being.

This was a little disappointing, based on all the hype surrounding it. The story was slow moving and confusing in places, with it being very difficult to tell the good guys from the bad. I guess this was intentional so that we don’t get too sympathetic with the cast, as the opposite view is meant to be the focus of the sequel. I’d avoid this unless you really like supernatural movie like Underworld or Van Helsing.

You’ll like this if you liked : Underworld Evolution
