Starring : Brad Pitt, Eric Bana, Orlando Bloom, Diane Kruger, Brendan Gleeson, Brian Cox, Peter O'Toole, Sean Bean
Director : Wolfgang Petersen
Running Time : 163 mins
When Helen of Troy (Kruger) runs off with Prince Paris (Bloom), her husband Menelaus (Gleeson) demands retribution and, with the aid of Agamemnon (Cox) and his legion of Greek soldiers, they lay siege on Troy in what at first appears an attempt to retrieve Queen Helen but is in fact an attempt on Agamemnon's part to spread his empire further afield.
In spite of some of the bad things I'd heard about this movie, it was pretty good. Pitt was a little wooden and really didn't look like he wanted to be where he was, and Bloom was annoying as usual, but Cox and Gleeson really make the piece with their greedy performances. Well worth watching, but be warned the runtime is almost unmanageable.
