Director : Andrew Niccol
Running Time : 112 mins
When director Viktor Taransky (Pacino) is let down by actress Nicola Anders (Ryder), he resorts to using a simulated actress, named Simone (Roberts), to refilm his movie, but when the computerised actress becomes an overnight star, Taransky is forced to continually make excuses for her absence.
This was a surprisingly good movie, which takes a twisted look at how Hollywood treats its stars as commodities rather than human beings. Pacino puts in a nice comic turn in the lead role, with new comer Rachel Roberts giving a very seductive and warming perfomrance as Simone. Look out for a number of cameos, and enjoy the immense stupidity of Hollywood celebrities.
