A Home At The End Of The World (2004) 7/10

Starring : Colin Farrell, Robin Wright Penn, Dallas Roberts, Sissy Spacek
Director : Michael Mayer
Running Time : 97 mins

Young friends Bobby Morrow (Farrell) and Jonathan Glover (Roberts) spend most of their youth with Jonathan's mother Alice (Spacek), living a free-spirited sexual charged childhood. Years later Bobby and Jonathan meet up again after many years apart and form an unconventional family unit along with Clare (Wright Penn) who is pregnant and wants both men to help her raise her child.

This movie takes a while to get going, but soon the characters come into their own, Farrell seeming a little on the slow side, with Roberts being the typical sarcastic gay man often found in Hollywood movies. Wright Penn puts in an interesting performance as both a fag hag and Farrell's sexual interest. Worth watching for the odd funny line, but over all it feels really convoluted and the performances can at times seem forced.
