Starring : Vince Vaughn, Paul Giamatti, John Michael Higgins, Miranda Richardson, Rachel Weisz, Kathy Bates, Trevor Peacock, Elizabeth Banks, Kevin Spacey
Director : David Dobkin
Running Time : 112 mins
Fred Claus (Vaughn) grew up in the shadow of his little brother Nicholas (Giamatti). In spite of his efforts to impress his parents, Fred always fell short of Nicholas's example, but after years of not speaking with his brother Fred finally gets back in touch with him to try and borrow some money to start up a new business.
The story is an interesting idea, but unfortunately this falls short of being that which it could have been. Vaughn is his usual slightly uppity and mildly annoying self, with Spacey playing the usual villainous role he's so good at. There are some odd comedy moments which might garner a chuckle, but overall this is childlike mush which only little children will find entertaining.
