Pineapple Express (2008) 7/10

Starring : Seth Rogan, James Franco, Danny McBride, Gary Cole, Rosie Perez, Amber Heard
Director : David Gordon Green
Running Time : 113 mins

Pro-dope stoner Dale Denton (Rogan) find himself on the run when he witnesses two cops (Cole & Perez) murdering someone he's supposed to serve a subpoena to. When the cops recognise one of his joints as coming from his dealer Saul Silver (Franco), the two of them find themselves running for their lives.

This wasn't the best comedy I've seen this year and, to be fair, a lot more could have been done with the plot, but the characters were fun and garnered a few chuckles here and there, but the villains were a little underused and really needed to be further fleshed out to avoid making them so one dimensional. It was nice to see Rogan and Franco together again, after a long time apart since Freaks And Geeks, though it was unusual to see their importance to the plot largely reversed.
