Tigerland (2000) 8/10

Starring : Colin Farrell, Matthew Davis, Clifton Collins Jr, Tom Guiry
Director : Joel Schumacher
Running Time : 97 mins

It’s 1971 and Private Jim Paxton (Davis) enlists in the army and is sent for training in an area called Tigerland, which has similar to the terrain of Vietnam. There he befriends Private Roland Bozz (Farrell), who has an uncanny knack for getting into trouble, but Paxton realises that Tigerland could be more dangerous than actually going to war when he suspects that at least one of the soldiers there may be have sociopathic tendencies and might do anything once he gets hold of live ammo.

This is a very entertaining war movie, with just the right balance of fighting and character to sustain it from start to finish. Davis is suitable enough as essentially the lead character, but he is overshadowed by Farrell who takes to the helm with natural ease. A good film with some great moments, definitely worth watching.
