Green Street (2005) 7/10

After being kicked off his journalism course at Harvard for something he didn’t do, Matt Buckner (Wood) travels to England to visit his sister Shannon (Forlani) and his brother in law Steve. He soon becomes friends with Steve’s brother Pete (Hunnam), who is part of a football gang-of-sorts called the Green Street Elite, and Matt soon finds himself spiralling into the world of football holliganism.

Although this started off slowly, and seemed a little too choreographed for my liking, this soon picked up speed and become quite entertaining. Hannam’s accent was a little distracting – he’s a Geordie trying to do an Eastend accent – and Elijah Wood wouldn’t have been my first choice in the lead, but overall this was a pretty good movie which was well worth watching.
