All The Boys Love Mandy Lane (2006) 7/10

Mandy Lane (Heard) is the latest hot girl at high school, and all the boys have become infatuated with her, so when one group of school kids invite her to a party at a ranch for the weekend it’s clear that the guys just want to try and get together with her – but someone has followed them to the ranch, and is killing everyone in an attempt to get to Mandy and have her for themselves.

This is a great little thriller which paces the violence perfectly so as to keep things interesting. The surprise twist at the end was indeed a surprise for me, but I really think I should have seen it coming. The deaths aren’t so over the top as to make this into a true horror film, and the killer isn’t an axe wielding unkillable monster, but this has all the elements of a great teen slasher ; like Scream without the comedy.
