Starring : Will Smith, Charlize Theron, Jason Bateman, Jae Head, Eddie Marsan
Director : Peter Berg
Running Time : 89 mins
John Hancock (Smith) is a superhero who has fallen out of favour with the public due to his excessive use of force in catching criminals which has lead to an enormous amount of property damage, but when he saves the life of public relations man Ray Embrey (Bateman), he is convinced to turn himself into the authorities to see how the public cope without him.
I didn’t expect this movie to actually have a plot, so it was nice to discover that there was one. Smith isn’t exactly suited to the role but he does a reasonable job throughout the movie, with some great support from Theron and Bateman. This reminded me of a comic book called Major Bummer, but the writers claim that the movie is wholly original so who am I to argue…
