Classic Friday : Back To The Future Part III (1990) 8/10

Starring : Michael J Fox, Christopher Lloyd, Mary Steenburgen, Thomas F Wilson, Lea Thompson, Elisabeth Shue
Director :Robert Zemeckis
Running Time : 113 mins

Trapped in the past, Marty McFly (Fox) gets in contact with the Doc Brown (Lloyd) of 1955 to try and send him back to his own time with the aid of a 70 year old time machine, but when they discover that the Doc of 1985 was murdered in 1885, where he was accidentally sent back to, Marty decides to go back even further in time to save him.

Personally I didn’t think this was as good as the previous instalments, but it was just as strong. The story is tightly wound together and flows wonderfully; I just wasn’t all that keen on the Wild West setting. Still, it’s the perfect ending for the trilogy and, fingers crossed, no money grabbing executive at Universal decides it would be a good idea to revive the franchise. It’s bad enough someone’s remaking Short Circuit, but please leave Back to The Future be!
