Because I Said So (2007) 6/10

Starring : Diane Keaton, Mandy Moore, Gabriel Macht, Tom Everett Scott, Lauren Graham, Piper Perabo
Director : Michael Lehmann
Running Time : 98 mins

Daphne Wilder (Keaton) decides to interfere in the love life of her youngest daughter Milly (Moore) by advertising for the perfect man for her and interviewing them before organising for them to randomly meet. But Daphne’s plans are scuppered when musician Johnny (Macht) decides to make a play for Milly, and Milly ends up dating two guys at the same time ; the musician and the guy chosen by her mother, Jason (Scott).

This movie had potential, and there wasn’t anything strictly speaking wrong with it, there just didn’t feel like ebough energy had been put into the performances. Keaton feels like she’s playing the same character she played in Something’s Gotta Give, and Mandy Moore plays her usual silly character ala Scrubs. Worth watching, but this isn’t anything special.
