Starring : Ewan McGregor, Natalie Portman, Hayden Christensen, Ian McDiarmid, Samuel L Jackson
Director : George Lucas
Running Time : 135 mins
Anakin Skywalker (Christensen) is lead to believe by Ambassador Palpatine (McDiarmid) that the Jedi Council are against him, and Anakin becomes increasingly suspicious that the council are planning to overthrow the government. Plagued by visions of his secret wife Padma (Portman) dying in child birth, as well as doubts about his future as a Jedi Master, Anakin understandably turns to Palpatine to help him stop the Jedi from what he views as their desire to take over.
At last George Lucas has made a Star Wars movie that is almost on a par with the originals. Granted, we are thrown into battle far too soon for my liking, but things soon slow down and begin to make more sense. It’s hardly surprising, though, that Anakin turns to the dark side, as his treatment by the Jedi Council is beyond belief, and they should have known better than to practically force an impressionable and powerful mind to turn against them.
