Unsatisfied playwright JM Barrie (Depp) meets a widow named Sylvia Llewelyn Davies (Winslet) and her sons and is inspired to write a new play for children revolving around a boy who never grows up named Peter Pan. Unfortunately his new found relationship with Sylvia upsets his wife (Mitchell), who becomes jealous of the time Barrie is spending with the children.

This is an entertaining yet very mellow story, which turns the life of JM Barrie into something magical whilst also showing just how sad it was. Depp plays Barrie with his usual finesse, with the supporting cast giving their all in this emotionally downbeat yet energetic movie.
