Starring : Steve Martin, Eugene Levy, Bonnie Hunt, Tom Welling, Piper Perabo, Carmen Electra, Jaime King
Director : Adam Shankman
Running Time : 91 mins
Tom Baker (Martin) decides to take his wife and dozen children on a nice family vacation, but when he runs into his old school mate Jimmy Murtaugh (Levy), who has eight kids of his own and has all of them overachieving to make him look good, Tom finds himself competing with Jimmy at every turn.
I was actually surprised to find that I enjoyed this more than the first instalment as it had a very 80s feel to it which was missing from the first one. Steve Martin still feels like he’s getting too old to make funny comedies (he’s about 60 in this movie!), but it is pleasantly surprising to actually laugh at one of his films, something I probably haven’t done since Bowfinger, possibly his last great movie.
