Earl Brooks (Costner) is a seemingly everyday man who has one deadly secret – he is a serial killer controlled by his alter-ego, Marshall (Hurt), but when he makes a slip-up at his latest crime scene, a neighbour of the victims, calling himself Mr Smith (Cook), asks Brooks to teach him how to be a serial killer too!
This was a reasonably good thriller, although it did tend at times to veer into the predictable. Costner plays his role to the best of his abilities and comes across surprisingly well, and Hurt plays the ghostly Marshall with a sinister undertone that is very well underplayed.

i had a feeling Costner would make some kind of a comeback... plus it's interesting how Dane Cook went from stand up comedian to starring in a ton of major movies
