Allan Quatermain (Connery) is charged to lead a group of extraordinary individuals in the capture of the mysterious Fantom, a madman who has been setting off bombs all over the world in an attempt to start a worldwide war!

Not as bad as many people seem to think, although the introduction of Tom Sawyer (West) to pacify American viewers was a bit annoying. Overall this is just a fun romp, using literary characters in a way that is by and large loyal to the original books. If you go into this expecting all action and little plot, you’ll find this extremely enjoyable. If you want detailed plotlines, then this probably isn’t for you.
