Set in 480 BC at the Battle of Thermopylae, this movie tells the story of the 300 Spartans. Lead by King Leonidus (Butler), who stood against the 100,000 strong Persian army over a simple matter of "earth and water", Despite the impossible odds and the merciless slayings of villagers by the Persian army, Leonidus stands sure of their triumph, but it only takes one single betrayal to destroy everything he’s worked for.

This was a beautifully filmed movie, full of action in the vein of the old Sinbad films mixed with the effects of The Lord Of The Rings. Expertly adapted from Frank Miller’s graphic novel, Snyder manages to keep the feel of the comic book and translates it well to the screen.
