The Cave (2005) 5/10

A group of cave-divers become trapped in a newly discovered cave system in Romania when they accidentally cause a cave-in. To their horror they discover that the cave is inhabited by a symbiotic life form which infects the host and transforms them into unspeakable monsters.

This movie was not only not very good, but seemed to have ripped off a number of other movies in the process. The main plot seemed like it had been taken from the superior horror flick The Descent, whilst the creatures were a cross between the Creeper from Jeepers Creepers and the Alien from Alien, with a little bit of Predator thrown in for good measure. Add to that the fact that the cave itself seemed to exist in a permanent daytime, and you’ve got yourself a pretty run-of-the-mill horror movie!
