Showtime (2002) 7/10

Detective Mitch Preston (De Niro) is a by-the-book hard-nosed cop, whilst Officer Trey Sellars (Murphy) secretly wants to be on TV. Following an indiscretion by Preston which could lead to a $10 million lawsuit, the two are partnered up for a reality TV show, in the vein of cops, Preston takes an instant disliking for Sellars, seeing him as a representation of everything he’s ever been against in the police force.

This was actually quite an entertaining movie, although the reality TV element wasn’t played on nearly as much as it could have been. Murphy is his usual exciteable self, and De Niro seems comfortable playing the straight man again.
