Michael Newman (Sandler)is a workaholic who finds it difficult to make time between his family and his job as an architect. When he buys a universal remote control for his household goods, he discovers that the remote controls his life, allowing him to skip over boring parts and relive his past experiences, but as the remote begins to remember what things he wants to miss out on, it takes on a life of its own.
This was a very enjoyable movie, though a bit moralistic and soppy towards the end. Sandler wouldn't have been my first choice on the role, as he felt a little over the top in his general anger, but he still pulled the part off pretty well, and the supporting cast had their moments too.
