The Bourne Supremacy (2004) 7/10

Starring : Matt Damon, Franka Potente, Brian Cox, Julia Stiles, Joan Allen, Karl Urban, Gabriel Mann
Director : Paul Greengrass
Running Time : 109 mins

When Pamela Landy (Allen) investigates a rogue CIA agent, her search leads her to Treadstone, the group whose members once included Jason Bourne (Damon). She concludes that Bourne was responsible for her operation to purchase some classified Russian documents going wrong, and she sets up a group to capture the ex-government worker, or so it at first seems. This disruption to his new life leads to the death of his girlfriend Marie (Potente), and he sets out to seek vengeance for her death and to clear his name.

This was a little faster paced than the first Bourne movie, but somehow wasn’t quite as good in other ways, despite having a reasonable obligatory car chase. Bourne on the run on his own didn’t feel as entertaining as when he had Marie in tow as the everyman element was missing from this otherwise decent movie.
