Ex-TV anchorman turned Congressman Evan Baxter (Carell) is contacted by God (Freeman) and tasked to build an Ark to prepare for a major flood which is due to hit Washington DC. When animals start to follow him to work, and he finds it impossible to shave his beard or cut his hair, God’s mission begins to interfere with his everyday life.

In many ways this was actually better than Bruce Almighty. There was more of a plotline to this, with the building of the ark actually making sense and having a pretty decent connection to Evan Baxter’s career. Primarily, though, this seems to have been made for children, what with all the animal antics and general silliness, but I still thought it was a pretty good effort.
