The Gravedancers (2006) 7/10

Following the funeral of an old friend, the incredibly drunk Harris (Purcell), Kira (Maran) and Sid (Thomas) break into the cemetery where he’s buried to pay their last respects, but when Sid finds a card with an incantation written on it, and they dance about reading it, they accidentally resurrect three terrible ghosts who begin to haunt them and vow to kill whoever it was that danced on their graves and desecrated their burial ground!

Although this little known horror started off slow and was a little cringeworthy, this soon picked up and became a bit of a classic horror. The ghosts look less like the jerky CGI ghosts of late and more like something from an Aphex Twin music video, which made them seem even scarier, and some of the effects felt like they were straight out of Ghostbusters, which is no bad thing!
